Ngamthang vouches for Aimol identity

IMPHAL, Jan 15: Aimol people should live as Aimols and they should not merge into any other community, asserted IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip. He was speaking as chief guest at the diamond jubilee celebration of the Kha Aimol Baptist Church at Loktak Project today. The function started with the unveiling of a diamond jubilee stone by Rev Semiserto. This was followed by presentation of cultural dance and music. Speaking on the occasion, Ngamthang Haokip exhorted Aimol people to preserve
their distinct identity. He stated that bigger communities should desist from amalgamating smaller communities within their fold. All the communities living in Manipuri should promote communal harmony and make the State peaceful and progressive. Although Aimol is a small community in terms of population but a strong sense of unity binds them together. That is why they are able to organise such a huge function, Ngamthang Haokip remarked. He also assured that he would consult the local MLA and provide all possible assistance for development of Kha Aimol village.
