Sunday Sermon: A Way To Sustenance With God

Mark 6:8-11, _These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff–no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt. Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”_

If we are in Christ we require staying clean, a decent in the spiritual heart and soul. We should hew with the works of the flesh. The staff, the bag, the money and the belt all that manifests the strength of the flesh we hold or possess in this materialistic world. When the spirit of Jesus Christ is abiding in us the mind governed by the flesh will have no power and strength and those who are in such a realm of the flesh cannot please God.

The extra shirt connotes or reveals the secrecy manners we have and share, such as the pride over the earthly acquired knowledge, enmity, hostility and criticism, blackmailing and the resoluteness over our own efforts of knowledge and wisdom cannot please God. Therefore, we need to realize that the knowledge of Goodness we inherited since birth cannot take us to heaven but the one who has the spirit of Jesus Christ will. The metaphor of the above sprayed biblical verses has clearly enunciated a way to pass the heavens’ road only through the worship of Him in spirit and truth.

We need to shake off the dust from our own feet; we ought to shake off many soiled things in our Christianity life. If we do not possess cleanliness in terms of tendency manners the spirit of Jesus Christ cannot proclaim in us, besides, if the spirit of Christ does not manifest to us we shall not see the heaven. Therefore, we should be always purging in heart and soul.

When the holy spirit is dwelling in us we cannot embrace malicious mindedness and immoral nature.

Happy Sunday!
