KUKI INPI MANIPUR CONDEMN INDO-NAGA PEACE DEALS

KIM ON INDO-NAGA PEACE DEALS
Press release: The 23rd May 2017.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur has been carefully observing the talks between the government of India and the NSCN (IM) for the last several years. It is now pretty clear that the NSCN (IM)  pretended and cheated Worldwide that they were sovereign nation and come out openly asking Indian to parcel out lands belonging to the Kukis. It is also very clear now that the NSCN (IM)  secessionist movement and its subsequent drive for the Ethnic cleansing and the UNC’s Quit Notice to the Kukis on 22-10-1992 that led to the killing of 905 innocent Kukis, burning down of 360 villages and displacing more than one lakh people was to seize the ancestral land of the Kukis and declare them as belonging to the Nagas and thereby include in the integrated Nagaland.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur would like to rebut and condemn the government of India and the State government for the appeasement policy adopted towards the NSCN(IM) as this has emboldened the Nagas of Manipur who were subject under the Kuki chieftainship for  centuries and who did not have any right to Kuki’s supremacy in the hills to mount aggression and make preposterous claims over lands belonging to the Kukis. It will be relevant to point out that Manipur was a one district state before statehood in 1972.
Cease-fire between  the govt. of India and Naga underground in 1964 extended only to erstwhile

i) Tamenglong ii) Ukhrul and iii) Mao sub-divisions which alone were considered to be predominantly kacha Naga inhabited areas. After creation of Senapati District by amalgamating Mao and Sadar Hills  sub-divisions and carving out Chandel from Imphal, the Naga area was gradually built up to cover both Sadar Hill areas and  Chandel though they are predominantly inhabited by the Kukis. This is by taking full advantage of appeasement towards the Nagas.

The Central and the State government should bear in mind that the problems in the hills of Manipur is due to the naked aggression of the Nagas of Manipur on the Kukis with the intention of dispossessing the Kukis of their land by force and fraud. Therefore, any settlement in solution with the Nagas alone can never solve the political problems of Manipur without first solving the ‘Kuki issues.

The govt of India is therefore advised to evolve some formula broadly acceptable to all by taking into  considerations the interest of all the stakeholders. Otherwise, regardless of any consequences that may  follow, the Kukis are equally prepared to shed the last drop of their blood to fight again for their land.
The creation of new districts is also a boon for the people living within the districts and the Kuki Inpi would extend all possible helps to the state government in all its administrative as well as developmental works.
Any move to withdraw or alter the newly created districts would be opposed tooth and nail.
